[GiDlist] boundary condition

Post by 淑红 »

Dear Gidlist,

I have a question about boundary condition.

I have a mesh already, with boundary condition and material parameters. Now, I'd like to change the boundary condition without remeshing. Is there some way to do this? Or how can I define different boundary conditions to one mesh?

Thank you very much. I 'm looking forward for your reply.

[GiDlist] boundary condition

If you change only the values of the materials , remeshing is not necessary, because the entities will point to the same updated material,
but if you change the conditions applied to the geometry it is necessary to remesh to have the new conditions applied over the mesh
(you can apply also directly conditions to the mesh, but is is unrecommended, and probably the selection will be very difficult)

If your problemtype were created using the 'compass toolkit', the conditions are applied over 'groups', and it is possible to change some condition values without need to create again the mesh, because the 'groups of the mesh' remain unchanged

Regards

Enrique
