I am trying to model a compression test for pile, but I need to implement interface elements between pile and soil. I have tried to use contact surface to model interface, but when I try to mesh I have problems. Anyone has an idea how to implement interface elements for a 2d case?

The 'contact surface' entity of GiD is really like a kind of meshing criteria.
It is a pseudo-geometric surface with zero depth that connect two curves in the same space location (typical master-slave of conctact simulation algorithms)
It will force the two lines to have 'equivalent nodes and elements' and the contact surface entity generate elements (quadrilaterals or line elements) conecting paired nodes.
What is the problemtype that you will use to calculate it?
