Dear Sir,
I am using GiD 11 version with atila 3.0.27 version interface. i have stucked with meshing the geometry which i have attached. THe geometry can take default mesh of required size. but how come i can mesh the geometry with structured hexahedral mesh elements that can reduce node number? at center of geometry 4 volumes of same material were there and at the corners single volumes formed from the surfaces of thes 4 volumes.

Re: meshing geometry
To mesh structured the four divisions of the blue band must be propagated to all connected volumes.
This is the main drawback of structured meshes!
e.g. now the volume over the 'blue volumes' has 9 surfaces as boundary. To be structured must have exactly 6 surfaces (be a box)
For this simple shape you can delete the volumes of the top and bottom and rebuild them with a copy of the blue ones, but for a general shape could be very difficult to be reached.
