Message: Node out of range:in this line:5-Reading Results

Post by corechang »

Hello,

I am a new user of GiD 12 and was following steps of Mock-up Test shown in the tutorial manual.
I tried twice the same example and got the same message "Node out of range: in this line: 5 - Reading Results".
Could you please find out what was wrong and let me know? I attached the example file.
Detailed explanation would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help.

James

Your attached model doesn't has applied to the geometry any material and boundary condition, and the mesh was not generated!!
and the result (.post.res) doesn't has values

Follow again the tutorial: create the geometry, define the new material, apply them to the geometrical entities, assign also the boundary contitions,
then generate the mesh, save it and calculate it.

Thank you for your reply.
The file that I attached was not the complete file. I believe there was an error in compressing the gid folder.
As mentioned, I followed the steps and saw all entities and meshes.
I tried uploading again. Hopefully it works this time. Please let me know if it works or not.
Thank you!

The calculation is not able to write any result because convergence is not achieved.

If you go to menu: Calculate->View process info...
It shows at the end something like this
Convergence is not possible, dtime
has been reduced 100 times because
inadmisible corrections or
large error estimation, Stop
I had a look to the related 'Mockup' tutorial of Code_bright and it said that must set 0 as value for the gravity acceleration (to not consider it)
I have changed this value
Data->Problem data... Gravity Z=0
and recalculated it with Code_bright_v4 (because Code_bright_v5 seems that is only compiled for Win x64 and I use Win x32) and it provide results.
