How to create a 3D mesh with different element sizes in different regions?
I am new to GiD and I am trying to create a 3D mesh for a fluid-structure interaction problem. I have a geometry that consists of a solid domain and a fluid domain, and I want to use different element sizes in different regions of the geometry. For example, I want to use smaller elements near the interface between the solid and the fluid, and larger elements in the far field. I have read the manual and the tutorials, but I could not find a way to do this. I have tried to use the mesh size function, but it seems to apply the same size to the whole geometry. Is there a way to define different mesh sizes for different regions or layers in GiD?

You can assign desired mesh sizes to geometrical entities
See the 'GiD user manual' tutorial chapters about 'Assign mesh sizes'
https://gidsimulation.atlassian.net/wik ... MESH+SIZES
and 'Methods for mesh generation'
https://gidsimulation.atlassian.net/wik ... GENERATION
Can also assign to create a boundary layer mesh typical of CFD simulations (menu Mesh->Boundary layer)
