Hello everyone,
I am modelling an excavation process which has 500 days for stabilizing conditions (from -500 to 0) and 14 days to excavate the layer (from 0 to 14). When the calculation arrives to the 0.2 days all variables take values of 1e+38. I have changed BC in many ways so i don't think the problem is there.
Anyone has anyclue on where the problem might be?
Thank you very much,
Excavation process: all variables take 1e+38 value

Hello Mateu,
Obviously, you have a convergence problem, probably related to the excavation boundary. It would be helpful if you look what happens in the postprocess, which can give you some clue of the problem. Anyway, there are some documents that can help you take measures to avoid numerical issues:
https://deca.upc.edu/en/projects/code_b ... -out./view
https://deca.upc.edu/en/projects/code_b ... n.pdf/view
You can also try to use the "smooth excavation" option. Please check the User's Guide for further reference about that.
Best wishes,
Alfonso
