Vectors density

Post by payoubi »

Hi,

Is there any way to change vectors density for a specific region?
Imagine the model has two different materials, one has a higher number of nodes (denser mesh). During the postprocessing using "display vectors", GiD assigns one vector to each node/element which builds highly concentrated vectors in the region with more elements, and, therefore, less clear figure. Is there any way to force GiD to show for example one vector for every three nodes/elements for a specific region? I know Tecplot and Paraview have this features but I could not find anything in GiD.

In postprocess open the preferences window
Utilities->Preferences...
and in Postprocess->Vectors
set 'Filter factor' greater than 0 (0 is the default value to draw all)
(e.g. set factor=3 to draw one of each 3 vectors)

Thank you. What if someone wants to change "Filter factor" for a specific region?
If the model has two separate surfaces and the "Filter factor" needs to be applied to surface one. Is it possible to do that?

Currently is not possible to apply different factor to parts.
It could be enhanced for future versions...

Thank you. I think it would be a nice option to add. It's sometimes useful.
