Structured mesh in a disk (with a hole)

Post by Laura314 »

Hi!
I would like to create a structured mesh similar to the picture attached. Reading some GiD documentation I found this reference:
https://www.gidhome.com/documents/refer ... Structured
where the option indicated is:
Mesh -> Structured -> Surfaces -> Center structured

However, I find this way doesn't work well if the geometry presents a hole (as in my geometry).

Is it possible to generate this mesh with GiD? How could I create it?

Thanks!! :P

In your case you need to subdivide your surface (circle with circular hole in the middle) into 4-sided surfaces. Each one of them will be able to be meshed with quadrilateral structured mesh such as the one in the figure.
