Problems with using surface and volume elements simultaneously

Post by Pavel »

Hola!

al intentar mallar el ejemplo que tiene tanto elementos de volumen (fluido en mi caso) y la cascara de este volumen (elementos de membrana en mi caso), me sale el siguiente error:

Condition 'surface Membrane elementy' has flag 'on body elements' and maybe needs flag 'on face elements' in the .cnd file of the problemtype.

He mirado diferentes problemtype y estoy bastante seguro que la membrana ha de tener el flag "on body elements".

¿Cual podria ser el error?

Muchas gracias!

Hi Pavel,

About your question,It seems that do you want to obtain when meshing a mesh of tetrahedra from the volume and a mesh of triangles from its surfaces (sharing the nodes with the tetras), then your definition 'on body elements' is correct for the condition to be applied to the surfaces (your membranes) and applied to its triangles.

Your problem it that by default GiD will only generate the tetrahedra of your volume, but not the triangles of line elements for the curves.
You must splicitly assign to the membrane surfaces (that belong to volumes) Mesh->Mesh criteria->Mesh surfaces
then you will obtain tetras and triangles, and the triangles will inherit your condition 'over body element' from its surfaces.
