Does the middle node lie exactly at the mid-point of the edge, say in case of quadratic tetrahedral meshes? The manual says this would be the case for structured meshes but would this hold true for unstructured meshes? I found some elements that had curved edges, that is, the middle node doesn't lie at the mid-point of each edge.
Is it possible to know when GID would create such elements and locate them once they are created in my domain?
Thanks

Re: Quadratic mesh
The middle node could be 'curved' in both cases, structured and unstructured. It is projected to the geometric entities in both cases
