Connectivities order !

Post by rfc1309 »

In the manual say that the connectivities order in a quadrilateral element is :
node 1 : bottom left node 2: bottom right node 3: upper left node 4: upper right
but in the data file created for my code de connectivities are : node 1 : bottom right node 2: upper left node 3: upper right node 4 : bottom left .
Is possible to change the order in the data file sent to the solver ?

You have misunderstood the explanation of our manual. Node 1 must not be compulsory located on the bottom-left!!
The elements could be located and rotated in any position of the space. You must be confident only on the relative numeration of the nodes of our pictures.

The normal of a quadrilateral surface element (define by the right-hand rule of loop following the nodes 1->2->3->4) points to the same side as the normal of the source surface.
You can swap the normal of the surface with the tools of the menu: Utilities->Swap normals->Surfaces
