How to view superimposed points, lines or surface

Post by Felguf »

Hello

With GiD version13, when I have superimposed points, lines or surfaces and I can view them by displaying the labels. I can’t read the superposed number (both numbers are written on each other) but I know that I have superimposed number.

Now, with GiD14, I can’t see superimposed number because the first number hides the second one. Furthermore, it displays a wrong number. By example, if the elements 3 and 18 are superimposed and it show me 38 (the 1 is hidden by the 3).

In GiD 14, is there a way to see easily the superimposed points, lines or surfaces ?

Thanks

P.S. : I don’t know how to post image on the forum to illustrate my example

In Utilities->Preferences... Fonts
set 'Render mode' option to 'Sharp edges'
(Smoothed edges look better, but overlapped label ids are hidden as you pointed)

And you can try different 'Labels' fonts and sizes, to see better the label ids.

In GiD 14.1.xd developer we are trying also a new feature, to highlight in red overlapped labels (to aid to visually identify repeated points)
can set on/off this new feature from the contextual menu
Label->Drawn overwritten (it is a checkbox menu)
