Collapse lines

Post by Felguf »

Hello,

I have a problem when collapsing lines.

By example, I have 3 points and 3 lines.
line 1 from point 1 to 2
line 2 from point 2 to 3
line 3 from point 2 to 3

When a select lines 2 and 3 and I collapse them, it remains only 1 line from point 1 to 3. Or I want a line from 1 to 2 and a second line from 2 to 3 because there are different conditions on them. I can simply delete the line 3 but this line can belong to a surface.

What I have after collapse:

What I want to have:

What could I do ?

Thanks,

Yves

As you notice the 'collapse geometry' tool is doing more things that only 'join close entities'.
for example it is also 'joining near-tangent' curves in a single curve (if the connection point only belong to these two curves)

Unfortunately nowadays is not possible to set on/off some of the 'collapse filters'

Some cases prevent this 'joining of near-tangent curves',
for example, if do you apply a 'condition' over the point 2, then the join will preserve it, just as you want.
e.g. to test it load Data->Problem type->Examples->cmas2d
and apply (Data-Conditions...) its condition named 'Point-Weight' to the point 2, and then invoke the collapse.
