Fonts on RHEL Workstation v. 7.2

Hi,
I am trying to run gid12.0.9-linux-x64 under Red Hat Linux Workstation v. 7.2. It works fine except that labels for mesh nodes and elements as well as labels for points and figures are not displaying correctly. I changed fonts with Preferences window but it does not work. Interestingly, when I run the same GiD set up on CentOs it works fine. What should I do to fix this problem I am having on RHEL?.
