[GiDlist] structured mesh

Post by sylvain waré »

Hello, I want to know if it is possible to GID to do the following
actions: I want to make a structured mesh in my 3 volumes. It seems to
be possible in so far as I have 3 6-sides volumes. But, it works only
for the volumes 2 and 3 and not for the 1. I think it links to the fact
the lines of this volumes are in reality shared in 2 part, and it is an
issu. But, is there a function in order to avoid this matter. Thank you
for your help, regards.

[GiDlist] structured mesh

Post by abelcs »

Hello,

The problem is that volume number 1 (in the picture you have sent) is not a
6-sided volume. It has 7 surfaces. To reach a structured mesh you have to
split this volume in a similar way as volumes 2 and 3 are.

Regards,

ABEL

Thank you, it is what I fear, since I have in fact an volume more
complicated, I will owe to creta a plenty of volumes in order to stay in
6-sides elements. I hope only a solution exists to this kind of problem.
