You can scale the model or mesh with the 'Move' window. with a scale transformation with scale parameters=1.0 in x, y and 1.0 in z

It is not just visualization, it really modify the node coordinates, but you can avoid to save the model after this change.

[GiDlist] variable mesh sizes

Post by mgeetha at aol.com »

Hello,
I have two regions assigned with different elastic properties.
I want to mesh (quadrilateral) with different mesh sizes for the two regions (depending on wavelengths for different regions).
Can anyone help me and explain how I can do it?
Thanks!
Vijayendra

[GiDlist] variable mesh sizes

You must simply apply mesh sizes to geometric entities (lines, surfaces,...) Mesh-Unstructured-Assign size on ...
and generate a unstructured mesh of quads
must set also to geometric surfaces that you want this kind of element, else you will obtain triangles. (Mesh-Element type-Quadrilateral, and select the surfaces)

You can also generate structured meshes of quadrilaterals, but then the number of divisions is propagated
between neighbor surfaces, you only can concentrate elements in some part of the lines, but maintaning the number of divisions.
