How are you taking the snapshot?
I have tried with GiD 11.0 Windows x32,
from the menu Files-Print to file-PNG
and
from the camera icon or the upper icons bar, and selecting Files of type png in the window that is opened
and it worked in both cases

Which platform are you using? (Linux, Windows, x32 or x64)

The Warning I obtained for png pictures is: Unknown extension '.png'

I also tried with .jpg and .gif extensions with the same result.

Can yo help me?

Thank you vey much,

[GiDlist] Gid Crash with Chinese UI

Post by escolano »

You are rigth,
The problem is that some chinese translated strings have incoherent format and this become in a crash.

I attach a fixed chinese messages catalog. Replace your current file \scripts\msgs\zh.msg (located where you have installed GiD)

Regards

Enrique Escolano

Subject: [GiDlist] Gid Crash with Chinese UI

Hi, All

It is great that Gid provide Chinese UI now in V10.0 and V11.0.

But we found the Chinese UI crash when we do some simple operation, while the English UI works properly, Could someone help figure out the problem?
To help you guys to understand, I attach a Chinese crash screenshot and corresponding English version screenshot.

Thanks a lot

Michael Liu (刘力风)

[GiDlist] GiDlist Digest Vol 23 Issue 7

Post by escolano »

Hello Michael,

Please, instead of try to directly modify the 'zu.msg' file, edit the attached file 'gidmsgs_11.0chinese.xml' (must unzip it) with our program RamTranslator
and then could export again the message catalogs (menu File-Export msgcat...) that must be placed in \scripts\msgs.
and please, send us back the modified version of 'gidmsgs_11.0chinese.xml' , to share your enhancements with the rest of users in next GiD versions.

Note: Ramtranslator can be download at: http://www.gidhome.com/RamTranslator/info/en/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=250
Note2: before export the messages catalog, it is important to check its coherency from the menu: Messages-Check errors...
The translation and the original must have the same amount and order of variable arguments %d %s..., etc. (lack or coherency could crash at runtime)
Regards

Enrique Escolano

Hi, Mr Escolano

Thank you for your updated file. The Rotation function works now :)

What's more, is it possible that we modify the zh.msg, since we found that several translation does not make sense.

Thanks a lot,
Michael Liu
