restrain or fix of the nodes

Post by faramarz ranjbar »

Hello
I've designed a structure in GID 7.7.2.b and I intend to restrain some of the nodes of this structure in different degrees of freedom (rotation or displacement), but in the software manual there is nothing to mention, and I really need guidance. Can you please me and guide me?
Thanks in advance.

GiD is a neutral pre/postprocessor that could handle different problemtypes for specific simulations (structural, CFD,...), loading a 'problemtype'.

It seems that do you want to do 'structural simulation', do you need an extra 'GiD problemtype' able to do the kind of simulation you want.
like RamSeries of Compass (http://www.compassis.com/compass/en/Productos/RamSeries) or Kratos

The definition of boundary conditions like 'restraints of degrees of freedom' depends on each problemtype.

And do you have an old GiD 7.7.2b version (year 2005), do you need also to have an old problemtype compatible with your version.
Unfortunately the 'problemtypes' that you can download from our GiD menu
Data->Internet retrieve...
are not able to work with a version so old.
