Re: BExM "transb.exe is stop working"

Dear Yanrong, I don't know why do you have a problem with the transb.exe. All I can say by now is that if it happens only with those two tutorials, then you have some problem in the definition of your model. However, if it happens with any model, then your problem might be a software or hardware pro...

Re: Convergence Issue

Dear Kevin,

If you have a convergence problem, it probably means that your model is not well defined. You might for example have some boundary condition that creates a sudden increase in some magnitude that the model cannot deal with.

Re: geostatic stresses

Dear Dario,

Note that the density you are using corresponds only to the solid phase, thus the total density of the porous media will be calculated taking into account the porosity and the degree of saturation.

Re: Units of Input

Dear Kevin,

Forces are in MN and Stresses are in MPa.

Normally we only use Nodal Forces (MN) when prescribing a displacement in a boundary. If we are setting a stress, representing e.g. a foundation, then we should use Boundary Stresses (MPa).

Re: root_atm.dat

Dear tonireg, Remember that you have an example of that file in the Code_Bright website: https://www.etcg.upc.edu/recerca/webs/code_bright/downloads/other-examples/atmosferic-file-example/view Remember also that the word "root" stands for the name of your model. For example, if your model ...

Re: Never ending calculation process

Dear rawatamm, It seems that you are producing abrupt changes in temperature and liquid pressure in your model, which make really difficult to the numerical approach to find a solution. You would need to make those changes more progressive in order for the model to be able to converge. Think that in...

Re: Convergence problem

Hi Arash,

Your model as it is right now has a mechanical problem. Either you confine the upper part of your model or set gravity. There might be some other issues too.

Hi Melia,

You can look for reference in Olivella, S., J. Carrera, A. Gens, E. E. Alonso. (1996) Porosity Variations in Saline Media
Caused by Temperature Gradients Coupled to Multiphase Flow and
Dissolution/Precipitation. Transport in Porous Media, 25:1-25.
