Re: Error "gid has stopped working"
Hello, it is hard to know why GiD is stopping without checking the problemtype content. If there is no confidential issue, could you please send the problemtype files zipped to my personnel e-mail (abelcs@cimne.upc.edu), so as we can check it? (I ensure its content won't go to anyone outside the GiD...

Re: [GiDlist] Problem Safir -GiD interface
Hello,
'FINAS' module is not developed by the GiD Development Team, and unfortunately we don't know who is in charge of it.

Re: Cross-Boxed meshes
Hello, you can obtain symmetrical structured triangles if you set Triangle as the element type, Structured as the kind of mesh (from mesh menu), and you check the option 'Symmetrical Structured Triangles' in the Preferences window (Meshing->Structured branch). If you don't set this variable, each qu...

Re: Volume can't be semi-structured.
Hello,
your geometry seams to be prismatic, but you may have some duplicated entity, or maybe some of the points you have created is not splitting the line.
You can check the topology of the entities using View->HigherEntities.
If you want, you can attach the model, so I can check it.

Re: Avoiding Subdivision of the edges when meshing a surface
Hello, there is one restriction with the unstructured quadrilateral mesher in GiD: the sum of the line elements (of the mesh) enclosing a surface, must be even. This may be the reason why GiD is adding an aditional node in that line. To avoid this, you should ensure the number of lines contour of th...

Re: Meshing Cylinder
Hello, you can generate a structured mesh of hexahedra (or tetrahedra) if the volume has 6 contour surfaces, so it can be topologically 'identified' with a cube. You also have the option to use center structured meshes in the tops of the cylinder (Mesh->Structured->Surfaces->Center structured), and ...
