Re: Structured mesh in a disk (with a hole)

In your case you need to subdivide your surface (circle with circular hole in the middle) into 4-sided surfaces. Each one of them will be able to be meshed with quadrilateral structured mesh such as the one in the figure.

Re: Force point to be meshed inside volume

Hello, the option you need is the 'force points to' volume, in this case. The problem is that this option is not available now for semi-structured volumes. We get your request, and we are implementing it. It will be available for the following developer version of GiD. Thanks so much for notifying u...

Re: 3D Mesh with hexahedra elements (basic question)

Hello, you can generate hexahedra elements within GiD if the volumes are structured or semi-structured. To do so, you need to specify one of this kind of structured type to the volume in Mesh menu. Structured volume must have 6 contour surfaces which must be able to be meshed in a structured way (4-...

Re: [GiDlist] Shell elements in GiD 9.0.4

Hello, I've tried to reproduce the case you are talking about with the model you have attached, and both version 10.0.9 and 14.1.2d of GiD are working properly. In both cases, each one of the surfaces have mesh if the mesh criteria is 'Mesh', and no mesh if the mesh criteria is 'default'. Maybe I'm ...

Re: Problems with open .post.res file

According to the GiD logo in the snapshot, I guess you are using a really old version (maybe version 7?). This option is in more modern versions.

Re: Sphere meshing

Hello, you can mesh volumes with hexahedra using structured or semi-structured mesh. Structured volume meshes must correspond to 6-faces volumes, and semi-structured meshes must be applied to topologically prismatic volumes, this is, a volume where it can be recognized two 'top surfaces', and latera...

Re: Couldn't mesh: not enough space in octtree -2-

Hello,

it seems that your model has some wrong defined geometrical entities. If you set Utilities->Repair model, you will see that GiD is fixing some of the warnings, but the volume number 5 is not closed topologically.
If you fix this, the meshing process should be fine.

Kind regards,

Re: Couldn't mesh: not enough space in octtree -2-

Hello,

it may be caused by a too small mesh size.
If you have no problems with confidentiallity, could you please send me the model, so I can check what is happening?
