[GiDlist] export deformed mesh

GiD 7.7.7b is a very old version for this rjump feature. You must use one of the last beta versions (8.1.x) (can get a temporary password for the 8.x version) Off course you can try to manually merge surfaces, but it can require a lot of work. Last beta vesions include also a new command to merge su...

[GiDlist] export deformed mesh

Have you tried to use the 'rjump' mesher capabilities? (to create elements jumping between surfaces) You can select this mesher in the meshing preferences, or you can manually set only some lines to be jumped or not jumped Mesh-Mesh criteria-Skip Enrique ----- Original Message ----- From: Smith, Mar...

[GiDlist] export deformed mesh

Hello José, It's not easy to remesh over a previous mesh (e.g a mesh deformated while the analysis), You can import the GiD ASCII mesh of triangles as a "Surface mesh" and try to remesh it or you can import each triangle as a surface (with the trick explained exporting as dxf) and try to r...

[GiDlist] export deformed mesh

Hi Mark, You can export from postprocess the deformated mesh (it's written in GiD mesh ASCII format) and you can read this mesh with an external program to calculate the enclosed volume (this volume calculation from a boundary mesh is trivial ) Or you can do a macro to ask GiD about the mesh and def...

[GiDlist] GID Mesh Format

Probably because do you have this duplicated points in the geometry (and then in the mesh generated from this geometry). Check your model: - Show points and node labels, to see if there are overlapped. - Draw point higherentities, to see how many lines are sharing ean point Enrique ----- Original Me...

Download it again from our web (gidpost1.70.zip) We have recompiled it (Win32 single thread and multithread) with the last updates For other platforms you must compile yourself from the source code. [GiDlist] Pressure load over Triangle

Check the name of the condition in the .cnd file, maybe the real name is 'surface_Pressure' instead 'Pressure' !! Maybe did you previously filtered the element type in the.bas file with som e*set elems command ? Try to use *set elems(all) before your commands to write this condition Another detail, ...

[GiDlist] Water tight volume

Hello Mark, You can check if the lines of your model belong to exactly two surfaces. View-Higherentities-Lines And you can use the collapse tool to close possible gaps. About the render, probably the surface has some problem (bad orientation, etc) and a render mesh can't be created, but it sometimes...

[GiDlist] Water tight volume

As Miguel said, the surface edges of a volume topologically belong exactly to two surfaces of the volume, but geometrically this two surfaces and the curve can have small gaps. This usually is not a problem if the elements are bigger than this gaps (the mesh off course won't have gaps) Regards Enriq...

[GiDlist] How to prevent merging

Yes, you can see the "Copy/Move" Window There is a checkbox "Duplicate entities", if you select it then the new entitites are created without be joined with any other. You can use this window as a user, and open the Undo window to see the internal commands: GiD_Process MEscape Ut...
