Re: Effective Stress in Unsaturated Soils
Hi James,
I'm not sure I understood your problem.
A clay normally swells as it gets wet, so during the hydration process the suction will decrease meanwhile the swelling pressure will increase.
Regards,
Alfonso

Re: X and Y direction prescribre
Dear Kevin, Nodal forces imposes the force in the nodes with the same value, whereas boundary stress imposes the force weighted by the area afected by every node. For example, in an structured mesh the nodes in the corner will affect half the surface than the other nodes. Anyway, it is difficult to ...

Re: Error in calculate step
Hi Kate,
I can't see any attachment, but I'm afraid new versions of Code_Bright do NOT work in 32-bits machines. However, you could use Code_Bright v4. Maybe you are using a version of Code_Bright for 64-bits machines. Could that be your problem?

Alfonso

Re: Air Layer for Atmospheric Boundary
Hi Melia, Happy to hear that the problem have been solved. Indeed, some people save their files into Program files and it gives problems due to some Windows restrictions on that folder. I don't know about storing it in OneDrive or other places. Anyway, it is strongly recommended to save the project ...

Re: Definition for 2 gauss points read
Hi Kevin, "Definition for 2 gauss points read" is a general error that doesn't tell me anything about what's wrong with the definition of your model. If you go to Calculate --> View process info, you can observe that there is already a problem of convergence at the very beginning of the ca...

Hi Kalman,
Sorry, we cannot post the tutorial files in the website, but we might help you find your problem. Anyway, I must admit that I don't have much time myself, but I will try to help you as soon as possible.

Alfonso

Re: EOF too early
Hi Kevin! The error EOF too early is not an specific error that can give me any clue about what's wrong with your model. All that I can tell you is that you have some basic errors in your Code_Bright project. Tipically the problem would be about your boundary or initial conditions. Also, check out t...

Re: EOF too early
Hi khagendra! As I expected, it seems you still need a lot of practice with the tutorials. I have take a look to your first problem and found a couple of mistakes. For example, you haven't set an initial porosity and in the boundary conditions it seems you want to prescribe the displacements, but yo...

Re: Rainfall Data
Hi Melia,
I think your statements about the format of the file are probably right, but your statement about not being able to have data that extends longer than a year must be wrong, I think. It's your interval data compatible with the file? Which units for time are you using?
Regards,
Alfonso
