Re: USB memory stick - Licence

The usb license allows you to run GiD in each computer the usb stick is plugged in. You can use GiD in any computer while the usb is pulgged in it.

Re: Floating Licence

Hello, the license includes the information of the number of users to be connected simultaneously. For instance, if you by 12 floating licenses, one license will be provided to you in order to run up to 12 GiD's simultaneously in the network. regards, ABEL

Re: Mesh interface

Hello, I'm not sure if I've understood well your case. You have to consider that unstructured volumes must be meshed with tetras, so their surfaces will have triangles. In case you want to mesh with hexas, you must set the volumes as structured (6-faced volumes), or semi-structured (topologically pr...

Re: mesh conversion

Unfortunately, GiD has not these features yet. We will include them in the todolist for futures versions.

Re: Biasing in Unstructured Meshes

Dear collegue, unfortunately, it seams that the only way to deal with this situation is the way Enrique has explained: to introduce new geometrical entities in the model, onto which you can assign different sizes. Actually there is another way to assign sizes independently on the geometrical entitie...

Re: Comparing meshes : Duplicate vs No-duplicate

Hello, the mesh of the surfaces should be the same, independently on if they have the 'duplicate' mesh criteria applied or not. This behaviour is the same for all the surface meshers (Rfast or Rsurf). It is not the case of linear and quadratic meshes. The meshes should be very similar (even exactly ...

Re: Pre-Postprocess visualization crash

There is not a limit in the number of elements to be treated by GiD. The only limit is the memory of the computer where GiD is installed. This should be a bug, or maybe your model is somehow corrupted. Could you please give us access to the model in order to try to reproduce this problem? ABEL

Dear Miguel,

I'm not sure about who is in charge of Calsef support. I will try to find someone who can answer you.

Re: Mesher Quality: RSurf vs RFast

You have also the option to set the 'Smoothing' level in the meshing tab of the preferences window. It may improve (depending on your geometry) the quality of the elements automatically, after generating the mesh.

Re: Skipping entities using Rjump mesher

Hello, it is not possible to skip surfaces when meshing using GiD. The only entities which can be skipped are points (between lines) and lines (between surfaces). For this reason, one line shared by more than two surfaces (a line with a higherentity value higher than 2) cannot be skipped, because th...
