Porosity influence on retention curve

Greetings,

Can you please provide the reference for the equations that specify the porosity influence on retention curve parameters:

Po(φ)=Po exp(a(φο−φ))
λ(φ)= λ exp(b(φο−φ))

Thank you,
Melia

Re: Hysteresis in SWCC

Greetings, This issue has become quite significant in my research which involves climactic boundary conditions to assess the response of a near vertical silty soil slope. The silty residual soil has a significant hysteresis which we would like to model in the software. We are analyzing the slope for...

Atmospheric boundary condition

Hello, I noticed in a lecture slide provided during the code_bright course last year (see attachment) that sensible heat flux at the boundary is correlated to heat conduction in the soil. I have consulted with a civil engineering professor who's specialty is evapotranspiration, and he has informed m...

Re: Vegetation effect for Evapotranspiration

Hi Alonso, I noticed a new manual posted on the Code_Bright website. However, after searching through the new manual I have not found any reference to the vegetation surface boundary condition parameters or how to activate the hysteretic behavior of the SWCC curve. Could I please receive guidance wi...

Re: Hysteresis in SWCC

Hi,

I would also like to know how to include this in Code_Bright. I searched the program and was unable to find where to do so.

Best,
Melia

Re: Vegetation effect for Evapotranspiration

Hello again,

Is it possible to receive the citation for the transpiration model incorporated in Code_bright?

Thank you,

Vegetation effect for Evapotranspiration

Hello, Can you please provide information on how to incorporate vegetation effect into the atmospheric boundary? There is nothing in the manual or tutorial files on how to select parameters and input parameters into CB. The only input is veg fraction in the boundary conditions interface. What about ...

Van Genuchten SWCC Parameters

Hello, I noticed that the exponents for the Van Genuchten equation in the code_bright users manual is switched. Rather than Se = (1+((Pg-Pl)/P)^lamda)^-(1-1/lamda), it shows (1+((Pg-Pl)/P)^(1-1/lamda))^-lamda. The equations are not equal. Is there a reference you can give me that shows the equation ...

Re: Air Layer for Atmospheric Boundary

Hello Agus, It seems that I needed to save my file to my documents folder. I saved my files to my GID thumbdrive at first, then transferred them to my onedrive folder when it started having problems. The problems persisted, and after your last reply I decided to save a new file in the documents fold...

Re: Air Layer for Atmospheric Boundary

Hi Agus,

Your response is very helpful in understanding this problem. It is also comforting to know that Alfonso is working on the issue.

I will continue to search for a solution.

Best,
Melia
