GID 16.0.6 crashes when splitting hexahedral meshes
Hi Escolano, I hope this message finds you well. I have a model where I can't mesh it properly around the opening, so I partitioned it into three parts and after meshing, I want to split hexahedral meshes into tetrahedral ones. This doesn't happen when I want to split tetrahedral meshes. I have atta...

Mesh around an opening and other mesh-related queries
Hi Escolano, I hope this message finds you well. I have a cube with holes in one of its faces that goes all the way to the opposite face of the cube (images 1 and 2). As you can see in this image, I have a semi-structured hexahedral mesh. I want to concentrate the meshes along the edge of the holes ...

Re: GID 11.0.8 not working on windows 10
Dear Escolano, Many thanks for your reply. I checked my drivers and they are up to date. When I use the USB on windows 7 it works perfectly fine and the top right corner icon turns into blue (the professional version). However, when I use it on windows 10 it remains red (unregistered version). GID v...

GID 11.0.8 not working on windows 10
Dear GID Team, I hope this message finds you well during these difficult times. I have a permanent professional licence for GID 11.0.8 and I'm using it as a preprocessor for ATENA 5.1.3f. I tried running it on windows 10 but it seems that this version of GID is not compatible with windows 10. I was ...

USB not recognized in windows 10
Dear Mr. Escolano, I hope this message finds you well. I have a problem with the USB license of GID. When I use the USB (which is hp v165w Rev_1100) in my PC with windows 10 enterprise as the OS, the USB is recognized by the windows explorer but not the GID. However when I use the USB in my laptop w...

Re: Different number of divisions for elements
Dear Mr. Escolano,
Many thanks for your reply.
If I uncollapse the volumes, does it mean that an interaction is required to be defined using a problemtype module to consider them connected or the volumes are connected only with different entities and labels at the interface?
Best Regards,
Hamed

Different number of divisions for elements
Dear Mr. Escolano, I hope this message finds you well. I have two cubes, one on top of the other (similar to the attached figure). Is it possible to divide one cube into 3 parts and the other one into 2 parts in each direction using hexahedral elements or other types of elements? Additionally, is it...
