Re: Floating licenses error

I think the server is windows, but not 100% sure.

Stopping the passerver service is what we've been doing.

Thanks,
Eduard

Floating licenses error

Hello,

we recently acquired a couple of floating licenses for GiD. The problem is that when GiD closes by mistake (Windows crashes, for example), then the server still retains the license and doesn't release it. Is there any way to force the server to release the floating licenses?

Thanks,
Eduard

Re: Geometry and mesh parameterization

If I just comment that line, then I get an error related to the TMP environment variable.

Re: Geometry and mesh parameterization

Hello, Thanks for your reply. Actually I was already saving and then quitting GiD with the command you provided. I think the problem was the "ramdebugger" error, because GiD stops working. So what I did was commenting the following lines, in the "tclfile-opengl.tcl" file, so that...

Re: Geometry and mesh parameterization

Hello, I have tried the approach of invoking GiD from a batch file, specifying the Tcl procedure to run. It works great most of the times, however, when I make a FOR loop in the batch file to invoke GiD with a changing parameter, then sometimes (usually one in every 5 iterations) I get the following...

.grid and .xml files without clicking CALCULATE

Hello, I would like to know how to obtain the ".grid" and ".xml" files without having to click on CALCULATE. What I would like to do is run GiD externally, so that GiD interprets a Tcl script that changes the geometry, and have a a variety of ".grid" and ".xml"...

Re: Geometry and mesh parameterization

Hello, in relation to your first post, where you described the two approaches for parameterization (approach "a" and "b"), I would like to ask: "a" - In this approach, we can't run Tcl commands, right? Only GiD_Process commands, correct? "b" - In this approach...

Re: Floating point precision in Tcl

Excellent. Very good answer.
Yes, I will use a function as you propose. It will be nice and convenient when GiD makes use of the "tcl_precision" set to 0.

Thanks,
Eduard
