Since 2010, the 15th of December GiD version 10.1.2d available for Linux, MS Windows and Apple's Mac OS X

Some of the new features and corrected bugs included in this version are:

• Faster drawing of meshes and new render options
• Improvements in the new isosurface volume mesher
• Default colour for Layer0 changed from green to grey
• New plug-ins mechanism in post-process, based in dynamic libraries, to import mesh and results in several formats
• Improvements in the postprocess' results cache mechanism, to load tons of results in a simple pc
• Options to extract boundaries and separate connected components in postprocess

GiD version 8 for Microsoft Windows has been released today. Linux versions for kernel 2.2, kernel 2.6 and for AMD 64 will be available very soon. This new version can be downloaded from here

The first 64 bits beta version of GiD, 7.7.7b, for Linux is made public.

It was compiled on Suse 9.3 with kernel 2.6.11 system with gcc version 3.3.5 on a dual AMD opteron machine

Available for Windows and Linux a new GiD 7.6.0 beta version. Version news are:

• Selection filter by condition fields
• Updated mesh menus for semi-structured meshes
• Option to reload the last model when restarting
• Save and restore the project view
• New style to draw volume elements without need to see the mesh boundary
• Enhanced menus: (more logical location/name, disable/enable color by context, added icons)
• Unload problemtype
• Mesh errors enhanced: can reopen this window, better messages

Today, the first official version of GiD, called 7.2.1, for Mac OS X is made public. It runs on Apple's Mac OS X, Darwin, and uses the X11 window system.

The requirement to run this version are:

• Mac OS X 10.2.1 (http://www.apple.com/macosx)
• a X11 window system like Apple's X11, version 0.2 or greater, or XDarwin, at least 4.2.1.
  • Apple's X11 can be downloaded from http://developer.apple.com/opensource/tools/X11.html
  • XDarwin can be downloaded from http://www.x.org/wiki/XDarwin
